This January recruitment period proves to be a period of feverish rumour and potential big-money transfers. A number of notable footballers are being linked with moves out of their present clubs. We examine some of the top names who are poised to be on the move this month.

A. Semenyo

Although Ghana's inability to reach the AFCON, which has left the player available, it appears a major transfer is imminent. This Bournemouth attacker has a contract featuring a £65 million release clause active for a brief period in early January. Latest reports indicate the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his signature. B. Johnson

The Welsh winger has found starting opportunities hard to come by at Tottenham this campaign. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, Johnson has started just a small number of league games. Reports suggest the London outfit would be open to a sale for the right valuation, believed to be in the around £40 million. The Cherries are currently at the front of the queue, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford additionally credited with an interest.

The Portugal playmaker could be set for a return to the English top flight after a period in the Saudi Pro League. Kenan Yildiz

This exciting Turkey forward has been in fine form for Juventus this season. With his current deal running down, many English sides – such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham – are monitoring the situation. Juventus are desperate to secure the youngster to a lengthy agreement but are in a race to retain one of Europe's brightest prospects.

K. Smit

The much-admired Netherlands midfielder has drawn comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. After impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ side. The teenager is widely expected to complete a big-money move this month. Newcastle reportedly are leading the chase, but could face stiff rivalry from Real Madrid for a signing valued at approximately £22 million.
